Temp to Hire
18.00 / hr w / 10% shift differential ($19.80 / hr)
Position Overview
The Mechanical Assembly Technician will be responsible for assembling mechanical products by connecting components and ensuring that all parts fit together accurately. This position requires reading and interpreting blueprints, performing precision measurements, and utilizing a variety of hand and power tools to assemble components into larger units. The Mechanical Assembly Technician will work closely with other team members to ensure that the final product meets all specifications and quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to assemble mechanical products accurately.
- Select, modify, or fabricate components according to measurements and specifications to ensure correct fit and functionality.
- Take accurate measurements to guarantee the proper alignment and fitting of parts.
- Align parts and components to build larger, more complex units with precision.
- Inspect the assembled components for defects and ensure all output meets high-quality standards.
- Collect and organize necessary materials and equipment for each project.
- Keep assembly tools, equipment, and machinery in good working condition and report any malfunctions or defects.
- Maintain detailed records of production quantities, time, and any issues that arise during the assembly process.
- Work closely with other assemblers to ensure the final product meets specifications and is completed on time.
- Test and inspect finished components for uniformity, performance, and quality to ensure they meet all required standards.
- May perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalentA minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical assembly preferredAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawingsStrong technical expertise and excellent manual dexterityExperience with large machinery is preferredFamiliarity with standard assembly tools and equipmentGood understanding of quality control principles and best practicesStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWork Environment and Physical Requirements
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperaturesAbility to stoop, reach, stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of timeAbility to push, pull, and lift objects weighing up to 50 poundsMay be required to climb stairs, kneel, or crouch to access equipment or retrieve materials
