Dean Of Students
BASIS Peoria is seeking qualified candidates for a Dean of Students to start ASAP!
The Dean of Students helps lead the efforts to build and maintain a strong, positive achievement oriented school culture. This Dean of Students position manages the behavior programs for the school and models how to establish strong, mutually respectful relationships with students and families. This position is a visible presence in all areas of the school and is responsible for all issues relating to the well-being of the students during their time at the school.
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelors required (Masters preferred)
- 3-5 years experience in a school setting (charter or independent preferred)
- Behavior management or relevant experience preferred
Primary Responsibilities :
Supports teachers to resolve differences in communication with parents and studentsOrganizes students arrival and dismissalOrganizes and reviews results of assessment of numeracy and reading comprehension and problem solving skills for any new student, state required assessments, Comprehensive or Curriculum Gains BASIS programReviews Progress Reports, Mid-semester reportsOrganizes and executes student academic and behavior supportMaintains student discipline and follows through with documentationCommunicates and meets with parents regarding student performance and / or conductParticipates in the development of academic and student schedulesParticipates in the planning and execution of standardized assessmentsSupports teachers in building positive relationships with parentsParticipates in all faculty and staff meetingsAdditional Skills and Qualifications :
