Role And Responsibilities

The role involves ensuring that patients are appropriately registered for all service lines. This includes performing eligibility verification, obtaining pre-certifications and authorizations, making financial arrangements, requesting and receiving payments for services, and performing cashiering functions. The role also involves clearing registration errors, editing pre-bill, and other duties as required. Additionally, it requires maintaining a close working relationship with clinical partners to ensure open communication between clinical, ancillary, and patient access departments. The role also includes providing PBX (switchboard) coverage and support as needed.

The value you bring to the team includes performing Medicare compliance reviews, creating accurate estimates for patient financial responsibility, coordinating with utilization management staff for pre-authorization issues, and contacting insurance companies to verify eligibility and benefits, and obtain pre-authorizations within established timeframes.

Qualifications

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent.
