Multi-Craft HVAC Tech

At Cherokee Millwright, we are a multi-craft company that focuses on the needs of our customers by providing multi-trades personnel to meet the customer's unique job requests. Therefore, all field employees will be cross-trained in various trades such as millwrighting, pipefitting, welding, sheet metal, civil, etc. The focus of this position will be to provide preventative care and repairs for HVAC systems and installation of HVAC systems by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Helps identify problems with heating, ventilation, and / or air conditioning systems for commercial and industrial customers.
• Carefully examines the equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot problems.
• Assists HVAC foreman in the repair or replacement of defective equipment, mechanical components, or wiring within the HVAC system.
• Performs preventive maintenance tasks and inspections on HVAC equipment.
• Inspects HVAC systems for effectiveness and safety.
• Keep records of customer appointments and payment transactions, to include invoices.
• Maintain accurate inventory of all equipment, tools, and HVAC resources.
• Performs all aspects of installation of HVAC systems.
• Additional skills in other crafts will be necessary to meet our customers need and will be expected in this role.

Reasoning Ability :

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands :

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment :

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
