General Overview
The NPI Engineering Manager for Teledyne RD Instruments leads a team of eight engineers in our Poway location in the development and manufacturing of marine instruments. This role champions a proactive approach and recommends technology solutions to enhance performance to achieve both short-term and long-term objectives. This role is critical in ensuring the seamless transition of new products from development to production, focusing on integrating complex systems and firmware solutions. The priorities of this position include strategic planning, product design and development, design for manufacturability, quality assurance, staff development and problem resolution. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

This job provides general supervision to engineering functional areas with direct supervision of exempt and non-exempt personnel. Responsibilities include providing leadership to employees, interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and / or Experience : Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science / Engineering or related technical field and 5+ years of directly related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree is desirable.

Salary Range : $113,600.00-$151,400.000
The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education / training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
