We are looking for an experienced Billing & Collections Specialist to oversee billing and collections activities for a managed property portfolio. This role is integral to ensuring accurate invoicing, timely collections, and compliance with business requirements. The position is based in Columbia, South Carolina, and offers the opportunity to contribute to key financial operations.

Responsibilities :

  • Oversee the billing and processing of corporate charges, chargebacks, and employee expense reimbursements.
  • Manage invoicing for property-level charges and tenant billing within the managed property portfolio.
  • Prepare and assist with monthly and annual financial reports and statements.
  • Lead tenant collection efforts and support corporate collections in collaboration with the VP / Controller.
  • Calculate and remit business licenses to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Code corporate payable invoices with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Administer and manage security deposit and brokerage escrow accounts.
  • Maintain departmental logs, correspondence, and data files for streamlined operations.
  • Conduct credit checks and prepare reports for prospective tenants, as needed.
  • Take on special projects assigned by the VP / Controller or other leadership team members.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or collections.
  • Strong proficiency in accounts receivable processes, including commercial collections and cash applications.
  • Experience with preparing aging reports and handling billing functions.
  • Detail-oriented with a proven ability to manage financial data and documentation.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to business licenses and tenant credit checks.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and tenants.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in relevant accounting software and tools.
