Designer

Summary :

The primary goal of a Designer is to contribute to SPR profitability through support of the dealers furniture sales initiatives relative to space planning, project and bid management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Location : Hybrid role based out of Atlanta, GA

Key responsibilities :

• Space Planning, project and bid management
• Working with the Regional Sales Managers – Furniture on key furniture sales opportunities
• Point of contact, for design, for key large customers and Lorell Diamond Dealer Showroom Program
• Working with Regional Sales Managers – Furniture and customers on design specifications
• Working with furniture vendors to generate bid and project pricingInquire, research, and provide customer feedback on the status of furniture ordersPhone use to answer customer furniture inquiries; customer serviceAssigned performance goal achievementProject commitment date achievement

Qualifications :

Education / Experience :

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.); in design with a minimum of three years commercial furniture design, customer service and project management; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in commercial furniture design is desired.

Language Ability :

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability :

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to calculate mark up and gross profit margins.

Reasoning Ability :

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills :

Giza / 20-20 design software expert level with Cad as a plus. Excel spreadsheets, Word processing, Internet software, E-mail, Order processing, Inventory, Manufacturing software, Database software.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

No direct supervisory requirement.
