Data Administrator
We are looking for a seasoned Data Administrator to work with our team and our clients to architect and develop data models, data warehouses, lakes, and lakehouses, data governance, services, and pipelines. We are looking for a more than just a "Database Administrator", but a technologist with excellent communication and customer service skills and a passion for data and problem solving.
Contributions
- Lead and architect migration of data environments with performance and reliability.
- Experience in crafting database / data warehouse solutions in cloud (Preferably AWS. Alternatively Azure, GCP).
- Helping build the structure and design of the database
- Implementing security measures for the data
- Controlling access to the database
- Building different environments for development, testing and production
- Merging and migrating data when necessary
- Updating and patching systems to maintain compliance
- Designing and implementing data backups
- Restoring lost data
- Continually monitoring database systems
- Key must have skill sets database management
- Support an Agile software development lifecycle
- You will contribute to the growth of our Data Exploitation Practice!
Qualifications
Ability to hold a position of public trust with the US government.5+ years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related fieldDemonstrated on-the-job experience with large-scale data migrationDemonstrated on-the-job experience designing storage and retrieval solutions for both structured and unstructured data, in support of data science pipelinesStrong command of SQL toolsAdvanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standardsUnderstanding of relational and dimensional data modelingPowerShell and Unix shell scripting skillsImpeccable attention to detailDemonstrated experience working with SQL and relational databases, query development and optimization (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases, such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and others.Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databasesFamiliarity with cloud technology, using AWS or Azure. Knowledge of managed service offerings (e.g. AWS EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift) and demonstrated experience delivering in a cloud environment.Demonstrated on-the-job experience supporting the development of related data artifacts including Data Dictionary, Entity Relationship Diagrams, Data Flow Diagram, Data Quality Plan, Data Management Plan, Data Asset CatalogExperience working in a DevSecOps environment, utilizing CI / CD best practicesDemonstrated on-the-job experience developing specifications for modern large-scale data repositories including development of specifications for cloud-based database solutionsDemonstrated experience collaborating with staff, IT customers, and other technical and non-technical staff and contractors at all levelsDemonstrated experience working in an agile environment and leading agile projectsBachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or a scientific or technical disciplineAbout Steampunk
Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $115,000 to $135,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
