MemorialCare Health System (Long Beach Memorial, Miller Women s & Children s Hospital, and Saddleback Medical Center) is seeking experienced Board-Certified Anesthesiologists for ongoing locum coverage. These are high-acuity sites with diverse case mixes and subspecialty requirements.

Practice Details

100% physician-only anesthesia care (no CRNAs / AAs).

Large, established teams : 45+ anesthesiologists at Long Beach, 18 at Saddleback.

Teaching environment : anesthesia residency & physician house staff programs.

Annual Case Volumes :

Long Beach : 28,000 surgical cases / 4,000 OB cases / 2,000 cardiac cases

Saddleback : 8,600 surgical cases / 2,000 OB cases / 1,000 cardiac cases

Case Mix

Cardiac Anesthesia always, specialty team only

OB Anesthesia usually (OB Fellowship or high-acuity OB experience required)

Pediatric Anesthesia specialty team only at LB / Miller s; rarely at Saddleback

Neuro, Trauma, Ortho, and Regional Anesthesia frequent

No chronic pain management or office-based anesthesia

Schedule / Call

Call frequency : 1 : 9 to 1 : 10 (first and second call)

Post-call day off : always granted

Mix of general, OB, cardiac, and specialty coverage based on fellowship / expertise

Requirements

Board Certified Anesthesiologist (ABA)

Active California License (required)

Fellowship or equivalent subspecialty experience in :

Cardiac (CV) Anesthesia Echo certification or CV fellowship required

OB Anesthesia Fellowship or significant high-acuity OB experience required

Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship required; must be CA Children s Services (CCS) paneled for Peds cases

Current ACLS & PALS

Exclusive contract with MemorialCare system.

No CRNAs all physician-directed model.

Coverage across three hospitals; Saddleback operates as a standalone team, while Long Beach Memorial and Miller s share staffing.

High-priority, critical coverage need credentialing will be expedited.
