CNC Machinist - 2nd shift

Job Description

Position Summary :

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. This position requires minimal supervision in the planning, layout, setup, and operation of CNC and manual machine tools. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of G & M codes, be confident editing programs, and take full ownership of the quality of their work.

Key Responsibilities :

Set up and operate CNC and manual machines with minimal assistance.

Edit and proofread CNC programs as needed.

Interpret and understand G & M codes.

Machine and inspect components to ensure compliance with specifications.

Perform various machining operations including milling, turning, facing, drilling, reaming, threading, tapping, deburring, and light assembly.

Conduct routine maintenance on machines as instructed.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Ensure the quality of all personal work produced.

Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

Work collaboratively with team members to meet department and company goals.

Work overtime as needed.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

Education & Experience :

High School Diploma or equivalent required;Trade School diploma preferred.

Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in CNC and manual machine setup and operation.

Experience with lifting heavy, irregularly shaped components.

Knowledge & Skills :

Proficient in advanced shop math.

Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints.

Solid understanding of machining operations and manufacturing best practices.

Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators).

Ability to hold tight tolerances and make machine adjustments as necessary.

Basic computer proficiency (data entry, editing, file searches).

Strong problem-solving skills with minimal guidance.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.
