Barge Cleaner

Job Description

Ingram Barge Company is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Barge Cleaner to join our team in the St. Louis area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our barges, ensuring they are in optimal condition for operations. This role requires a commitment to safety standards and the ability to work in a marine environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Performing routine cleaning and maintenance of barges using high pressure pumps, hoses, and attachments, including the interior and exterior.
• Removing debris, sludge, and waste materials, using a bobcat, brooms, and shovels, to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Utilizing appropriate cleaning agents and equipment to effectively clean surfaces.
• Inspecting barges for damage or maintenance needs and report findings to the supervisor.
• Performing minor barge repairs such as fiberglass and stick welding
• Following safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
• Assisting in the preparation of barges for loading and unloading operations.
• Collaborating with crew members and other departments as needed.
• Performing other duties as requested
