The Human Resource Business Partner – Company Owned Outlets (COO) serves as a strategic consultant and trusted advisor to leadership across our Commercial Tire and Service Centers and Consumer Retail operations. This role is instrumental in aligning HR strategies with business goals, with a strong emphasis on Employee Relations as a core responsibility. The HRBP will drive initiatives related to talent management, organizational effectiveness, and cultural development while ensuring compliance and consistency in HR practices. The ideal candidate will bring strategic thinking to the table and have a solid understanding of the unique dynamics of the retail environment, enabling them to influence outcomes and support business growth effectively.
What You’ll Do
- Act as a business partner to the management team (in the field) regarding people, social and organizational issues. Give direction to managers based on company policy, collective bargaining agreements, applicable laws and past practices. Provide careful review and approval of disciplinary actions / terminations and make recommendations for corrective action. This may require on-site visits to operation locations.
- Act as a collaborative partner to the management team (in the field) on people, social and organizational issues. Analyze talent strategies / staffing levels. Execute succession plans. Partner with COEs for training and development. Facilitate performance management processes.
- Maintain compliance with internal / external standards (EEOC, Affirmative Action, OSHA, DOT, FTA, etc.). Review / approve transfers, promotions, and pay increases.
- Lead key HR projects (e.g., turnover reduction, onboarding improvement). Partner with business functions to ensure procedures and training are implemented and followed.
