Purpose of the Job

The Director Product Strategy & Development leads the Credit Union's consumer and commercial product portfolio strategy, spanning deposits, loans, and related financial services, throughout the full product lifecycle. This includes both developing new products and continuously monitoring the performance of the existing portfolio to ensure alignment with strategic goals. Using data-driven insights and key performance metrics, the Director proactively identifies opportunities, gaps, and adjustments to product features or positioning. The role manages and develops a team of Product Managers to deliver innovative, market-aligned solutions, while partnering closely with technology, operations, member experience, finance, compliance, and marketing to ensure products are technically sound, compliant, and meet member needs.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Owns the full lifecycle of the Credit Union's product portfolio-including deposits, loans, and related services, ensuring offerings remain competitive, profitable, and strategically aligned.
• Continuously monitors product performance using key metrics and insights, proactively identifying opportunities, gaps, or positioning adjustments to improve outcomes.
• Presents complex research findings and makes recommendations to senior leaders, helping to facilitate long-term product strategy planning.
• Develops and executes the strategic product roadmap, balancing new development with enhancements to existing products.
• Leads, coaches, and develops a team of Product Managers, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
• Partners with Business Insights to leverage data and research in product evaluation, profitability analysis, and opportunity identification.
• Collaborates with Marketing and Digital teams to design go-to-market strategies, adoption campaigns, and communications for product changes and launches.
• Works closely with business analysts and IT to ensure product design is feasible within core banking, loan origination, and deposit account systems. Partners with Compliance, Risk, and Legal to ensure product development and changes meet regulatory and policy requirements.
• Benchmarks against peer financial institutions to identify and apply best practices and innovations.
• Develops and manages departmental budgets and resources effectively. Participates in the planning and implementation of new key corporate initiatives.
• Works with development and project teams by ensuring the member's voice is incorporated into the design, implementation, and testing of applications and products.
• Develops and monitors department budgets.
