Tax Staff - Public

Description We are looking for a skilled Tax Accountant to join our growing team in Midland, Texas. As part of a small, dedicated firm, you will play a key role in preparing tax returns, managing bookkeeping tasks, and supporting clients in the oil and gas industry. Responsibilities :

• Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, businesses, and partnerships.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accurate journal entries and reconciliations.
• Utilize QuickBooks and Excel to maintain accurate financial records and reports.
• Collaborate with clients in the oil and gas sector to provide tailored accounting solutions.
• Assist in the implementation of new systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Provide support during audits and resolve any tax-related issues.
• Conduct research on tax laws and updates to ensure accurate and up-to-date filings.
• Work closely with partners and staff in a family-oriented office environment.
• Perform general bookkeeping duties and provide financial insights as needed. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in tax preparation and bookkeeping.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel.
• Familiarity with oil and gas industry accounting practices is preferred.
• Strong understanding of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
