Tillys Project Manager

Based in sunny Southern California, our Retail Support Center (RSC) is the heart of our corporate operations, dedicated to supporting both our retail and online stores. The RSC is where strategy meets execution. From trend forecasting to tech innovation, our teams work together to bring the Tillys experience to life both in-store and online.

This is a seasonal position for a 6-month project based assignment, with an opportunity to convert to a full time regular position after the completion of the project, and based on business needs.

The Project Manager drives cross-functional initiatives and oversees the full project life cycle, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and aligned with company goals. This role requires strong organization, time management, and proven experience in IT, software development, retail, or eCommerce. The ideal candidate excels at improving workflows, balancing multiple priorities, and partnering with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, with a solid background in Agile, Scrum, and other methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organized and efficient multitasker with excellent time management skills.
  • Scope and deliver multiple projects with a track record of delivering on time and within budget.
  • Own full project life cycle : define, manage, and execute project activities including adherence to delivery schedules, stakeholder, scope and risk management, budget control, and critical path scheduling.
  • The ability to present to all levels within the company and work with both technical and non-technical individuals, as this role is immersed with cross-functional teams.
  • Adheres to best practice project management methodology and PMO standards.
  • Status reporting to track projects progress against goals, objectives, and timelines.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of IT or software development experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a role managing a project team of at least 4 members from multiple business units or geographic locations.
  • Experience working in multiple project management methodologies (i.e., Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
  • Ability to understand technical concepts and participate in developer, network and integration discussions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong meeting management skills to actively engage participants in productive work sessions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and demonstrate effective teamwork and leadership.
  • Willingness to step outside the PM role when needed.
  • Ability to work proactively and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to quickly learn specifics about our industry including operations and business processes, retail environments, etc.
  • Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma required
  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent technical experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience in retail and / or ecommerce companies is a plus.
  • Experience in retail applications is a plus, particularly allocations systems, a WMS, and JDA / MMS.
  • Proficient in use of Excel, MS Word, and other MS Office software.

    Compensation

    Annual Range : $120,000 - $123,000. Final offer will be based on experience, skills, and qualifications.

    What to Expect

    Schedule : Full-time role with weekday office hours; occasional evening or weekend work may be required during peak retail seasons. Work Location : Irvine, CA minimum of 4 days per week in-office.
