Surgery - Trauma Physician

Vanderbilt Health is seeking an acute care surgeon capable of trauma and emergency general surgery to join a growing regional practice in Lebanon, Tennessee, about 25 miles east of downtown Nashville.

Position Highlights :

• Join an existing cohort of three surgeons supporting Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital (VWCH), a 245-bed acute care hospital and Level III Trauma Center.
• In this non-faculty position, enjoy a mix of trauma and emergency general surgery supported by a collaborative team as well as strong relationships with hospital medicine and other subspecialties.
• Cover 15 shifts per month, 12-hour shifts in this acute care surgery model, with evenly shared days / nights / holidays.
• Outpatient clinic shared with the group and supported by dedicated APP staff. Potential for mixed med / surg critical care practice and / or elective surgery practice with a dedicated First Assist, experienced OR staff, and excellent turnover times.
• Access to resources available through the larger VUMC Surgery Section, including case conferences, education, professional development, and mentorship.
• Enjoy practicing in a close-knit and growing hospital with a team dedicated to providing high quality, patient-centered care to the local community.

Qualifications : Ideal candidates are MD / DO with board certification or eligibility in Acute Care Surgery with a firm commitment to the Vanderbilt values of innovation, collaboration, and quality. BE / BC General Surgery candidates without trauma training will also be considered.
