Position Title : Process Technician-Mixing Department : Mixing
Process Technicians function as an interface between the production, production technology, engineering and maintenance teams to ensure the consistent production of high quality products. Specifically, Process Technicians are responsible for ensuring the continuous improvement of processes and products including; troubleshooting process issues, cycle time optimization, maximize throughput rate; increase product quality and minimize scrap / defect rates.
General Job Requirements / Experience / Background :
- Develop process studies and make recommendations to the various teams that will improve process, machine, and material improvements to enhance manufacturing, engineering, and maintenance efficiencies.
- Monitor process and ensure compliance to product and process standards; troubleshoot and correct deviations; and conduct process audits.
- Assist in the maintenance and administration of the Company’s process and product verifications in accordance with PFMEA and Control Plan Requirements
- Optimize current processes to improve throughput, yield and quality performance metrics
- Assessing, measuring, and analyzing data utilizing statistical process control (SPC)
- Monitor and evaluate existing manufacturing process and workflows to seek efficiencies targeted at yield optimization (ex. Scrap and defect reduction)
- Proficient with conducting Inventory counts and maintaining / ordering necessary supplies
- Develop solutions to eliminate re-occurrence of process issues, develop standardized workflow documents and drive continuous improvements to meet safety, quality, productivity and cost reduction goals
- Identify and debug issues in process, products, equipment, and work for solutions with the aid of visual observation, process data and on-line testing
- Prepare oral and written reports for all process activities (i.e. daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc reporting) to all levels of management
- Lead and participate in Corrective Action and Preventative Action Teams, Quality Initial Reporting (QIR) to establish root causes failure modes.
- Assist with and conduct, training of operators on equipment operation, product defects and current or changing processes.
- Utilize 5s, lean manufacturing principles, standard work instructions, open issues list and other documentation to improve manufacturing efficiencies, floor spaces, and housekeeping
- Proficient with Computer Operations (ex. Microsoft Suite Skills)
- Must perform other duties and tasks as assigned
