What you will do

We are looking for an experienced Machinist to contribute to our goals by using manual lathes and mills to manufacture and repair compressor components. They will perform as an integral member of the team by interpreting drawings; determining dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and set-up requirements to maximize efficiency; creating set-up sheets based on tooling selection criteria; monitoring and verifying the accuracy of each job’s initial set-up and final outcome; and revising documents based on engineering changes in addition to other routine tasks within the department.

Tools and equipment are provided to complete all jobs.

What we look for

Required

  • Proficient in both Manual Mill and Lathe Operation, setup, tooling selection, and work holding.
  • High school diploma or GED supplemented by 3+ years’ experience operating manual machines in a mid to heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the application of precision measuring equipment, including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and indicators.
  • Experience operating a lathe.
  • Working knowledge of various tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, and inserts used on various machines.
  • Ability to use various mathematical skills to calculate material fabrication, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra
  • Adherence to safety and quality standards, and dedication to reporting and correcting all issues
  • Maintaining oil and coolant levels of machines, as well as any preventive maintenance.
