Job Description

Purpose Statement :

Production Artist must be extremely innovative, artistic, and creative. Often collaborate on projects with their colleagues. Production Artist may meet with other departments, listen to their project specifications, and translate their requests into designs utilizing InDesign and Photoshop for layouts. Work in a fast-paced environment, take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them seamlessly into layouts and other designs.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • New Program Specifications and onboarding.
  • Downloading, cropping, and editing of art using Photoshop
  • Checking Resolutions, color matching, double checking files, correcting pixels before sending to print.
  • Manage pre-press for wall operations.
  • Manage and setup automation for both Austin and LA location.
  • Work with clients on managing and setting up their files and databases.
  • Perform design work for internal use and clients.
  • Color management for internal use and client issues / proofing images.
  • Process daily orders for both Austin and some LA accounts.
  • Work closely with CS on order issues / help resolve for best results.
  • Track additional account work for billing use.
  • Participate in client meetings for ongoing projects.
  • Train internal staff and customers in file requirements, setup, media, client accounts, etc.
  • Works with production on file issues and customer complaints for resolution to follow customer expectations.
  • Creates zund cut paths for regular and custom projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required

  • Previous experience as a Graphic Production artist required
  • Skilled in InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Clear understanding of resolution types, setting up print files.
  • Highly creative with an eye for detail
  • Ability to read and follow instructions.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic math skills (Ability to add, subtract, divide, multiply and fraction calculations)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Teams)
  • Basic proficiency with scanners, printers and computers
  • Experience with shipping systems (FEDEX & UPS)

  • Physical Requirements

  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as : preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
