This company specializes in high-precision honing and grinding for metal parts in a wide range of sizes and dimensions. Seeking individuals who are mechanically inclined, understand tolerances, and can take accurate measurements. Will train the right mechanically inclined candidate who understands tolerances and how to take precise measurements.

Centerless Grinder Operator Role

Operates industrial centerless grinding machines to grind metal bars and other parts. They ensure the machines are correctly set up, monitor the grinding process and inspect finished products to ensure quality. The purpose of a Grinder Operator is to use grinding machines to produce finished parts and components from raw materials. This involves setting up and operating the machines, ensuring that all safety protocols are observed, and inspecting the parts for accuracy. The Grinder Operator is also responsible for maintaining the machines and performing basic repairs as required.

Grinder Operator Duties

Set up, operate and maintain grinding machines
Select grinding wheels and other related tools
Perform quality control checks on products
Operate straightening press
Ensure that safety regulations are adhered to
Interact with supervisors and other team members

Grinder Operator Requirements

Experience with centerless grinding, or other grinding operations is a plus, but not required

Experience operating manual or CNC machine tools in a shop environment

Ability to take and read measurements (micrometer, calipers)

Good communication skills

Ability to follow instructions

Reliability – commitment to report to work consistently

Grinder Operator Skills

Ability to read and interpret machine-ready drawings

Ability to operate a grinding machine, or be able to pick up on training the company will provide

Ability to use measuring equipment

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

Excellent problem solving skills
