Job Overview

The position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent with average reading, writing, and oral communication skills. It also demands working knowledge of direct patient care and basic understanding of Unit Secretary functions. To qualify, candidates must have successfully completed one of the following : a Nursing Assistant Program, a Medical Assistant Program, or equivalent work history in a patient care environment. Additionally, rotation with total patient care at Nursing School or EMT Training is preferred.

Licensure / Registration / Certification includes BLS from the American Heart Association.

Desired Qualifications

Applicants should have working knowledge of Unit Secretary functions and be certified as a Nursing Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

The role involves performing as a Unit Secretary at least 50% of the time and functioning as a Nursing Assistant as assigned. This includes performing clerical and reception duties to maintain efficient operation of the department and assisting in the continuity of patient care delivery within an assigned area by providing direct personal care, rehabilitative measures, and supportive services.
