This position is located at the MARRIOT HOTEL in WALNUT CREEK, CA .

The Walnut Creek Marriott is a full-service hotel offering 342 modern guest rooms and 18,000 square feet of versatile meeting and event space. It features trio, a contemporary bar and restaurant serving locally inspired cuisine and craft cocktails, as well as a 24-hour fitness center, business center, and complimentary shuttle service within a 3-mile radius. Conveniently located near downtown Walnut Creek, the hotel is easily accessible via major highways and the BART systemproviding direct transit to San Francisco, Oakland, and the broader Bay Area.

Purpose for the Position :

To repair and maintain the physical structure of hotel using hand tools and power tools.

Essential Responsibilities :

• Maintains hotel by performing minor routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities, using hand tools.
• Replaces air conditioner filters.
• Notifies management concerning the need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
• May tend furnace, air conditioner, and boiler to provide heat, cool air, and hot water for guests.
• Execution of assigned tasks, projects, or programs, as instructed by the departments management and ensure completion competently within a given time.
• To ensure any work requests that may come from the hotel guests or senior management are responded to within a given time. All such requests are to be recorded along with what action is taken.
• Required to be always in uniform when working on the property, including wearing a name identification badge.
• Supports and adheres to the core values, the mission statement, service fundamentals, and guest service philosophy as defined by the company.
• All other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.

Skills and Abilities :

Physical Demands : Medium work. Exerting up to 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree, and or requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
