Our work depends on a Cybersecurity Automation Engineer joining our team to analyze, design, develop, implement, and support code for our government customer, the United States Postal Service.
How a Cybersecurity Automation Engineer will make an impact :
- Responsible for implementation and execution of the automated Certificate Lifecycle Management office
- Assess the current state of the operations, including the degree of automation currently enabled, the automation tools employed, the degree of success from the automations, and the skill set of the current automation staff
- Examine the types of certificates used, and the use cases in which they are deployed
- Develop proof of concept automation scripts which can be deployed by the operations team, and the metrics / dashboard which will be used to track the performance of the automation
- Train the operations staff in the use and maintenance of the automations developed
What you'll need to succeed :
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, preferred but not required. NOTE : If resources do not have a relevant college degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required.13+ years of Systems Engineer or Cybersecurity Operations or similar automation experienceSOAR Engineer capable of composing playbooks and experience in creating YAML files for inclusion in products like Ansible and SplunkAdvanced knowledge, including 4+ years of experience, in one or more of the following areas :KubernetesInfrastructure as Code, specifically managing Salt, Ansible, and SplunkExperience working with automation tools such as Ansible.Experience with developing and implementing ServiceNow workflows for process optimization, tracking, and reportingExpert in developing custom tool integrations modifying existing interfaces for optimization.Experience with one or more scripting languages, such as YAML, Python, Bash, and / or RubyBasic familiarity with the Venafi Machine Identity Management platform for Certificate Management LifecycleAbility to build & maintain schedules and step-by-step action plansStrong interpersonal and organizational skillsAbility to positively influence peer organization and key stakeholders.Security Clearance Level :
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprintingThis position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows : U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
