Position Description :
CGI is seeking a skilled Backend Web Developer (O&M Specialist) to join our team in the Washington, DC area. This role is essential for overseeing Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities, ensuring the smooth functioning and sustainability of systems. The successful candidate will collaborate with development, engineering, architecture, testing, and Library teams to maintain and enhance system performance.
This position is located in our Lafayette, LA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities :
- O&M Oversight : Manage and oversee Operations and Maintenance activities, ensuring systems are running efficiently and effectively.
- Collaboration : Work closely with development, engineering, architecture, testing, and Library teams to ensure seamless integration and system sustainability.
- Problem Solving : Identify and resolve issues promptly to minimize downtime and optimize system performance.
- Continuous Improvement : Implement best practices and strategies for continuous improvement in system operations and maintenance.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role :
Education : Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.Experience : A minimum of 5 years of experience in backend web development and O&M roles, demonstrating expertise in maintaining and enhancing system performance.Languages : Proficiency in Python, Perl, Bash, Ruby, Node.js, and JavaScript.Database Skills : Experience with Solr, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server.Development Methodologies : Strong understanding of Agile and Kanban methodologies.Programming : Proficient in Java, Perl, Python, and JavaScript.Cloud Platforms : Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, and Azure.CI / CD Pipelines : Expertise in GitLab Actions, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and other automation tools.CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.
