TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Davie is hiring a bookkeeper!

This position works closely with the franchisees (owner) on all financial aspects of the franchise.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure all accounting activities conform to business policies and procedures, applicable state and federal laws, and General Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Daily supervision of the implementation of accounting office policies, standards and procedure. Continuously review processes and procedures and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and strengthen controls
  • Manage others in a supervisory capacity and have the ability to work independently and in groups.
  • Activities include but are not limited to : revenue audit, payment reconciliation, weekly payroll time and attendance processed through payroll vendor, accounts payable, account receivable, bank deposits
  • Month end close with bank, P&L and balance sheet account reconciliations, sales tax filings and payment, AR reports to Franchisees. Prepare monthly adjusting journal entries
  • Projects as needed or determined by Franchisees, expected to manage project to completion
  • Responsible for franchise document management

    • Job Requirements

  • A minimum of an Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred or an equivalent in applicable work experience
  • Minimum three years' experience actively closing books to Financial Statements
  • Knowledge and experience working with the Intuit QuickBooks accounting program
  • Strong Excel skills and advanced spreadsheet modeling
  • Competency with Microsoft products including Word and Outlook
  • Ability to learn new technology, i.e. proprietary software
  • Professional demeanor and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Experience working in a multi-company environment, including high volume inter-company account reconciliation
  • Working with staff members to develop skills and enhance performance
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills

    • Work Environment

    Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards. Travel is not required.
