The Senior Technology Manager’s primary responsibility is to partner with business stakeholders and deliver technology solutions that accelerate CarMax’s consumer vehicle acquisition strategy. This role leads the short term and long-term strategic planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of a suite of systems focused on driving consumer-sourced vehicle supply through both digital and in-store experiences.
Purpose of the role
Consumer Supply is a critical growth engine for CarMax, enabling individuals to sell their vehicles directly to us. This role supports the full lifecycle of that experience—from offer generation to transaction completion—by leveraging cutting-edge technologies and data-driven insights. The Senior Technology Manager will lead cross-functional teams to modernize legacy systems, automate workflows, and build scalable platforms that improve offer competitiveness, streamline operations, and enhance the associate experience.
We are reimagining the consumer selling journey using advanced technologies such as cloud computing, machine learning, and AI-driven personalization. Our goal is to create a seamless, omni-channel experience that empowers consumers to receive accurate, compelling offers and complete their sale with confidence—whether online or in-store. This includes innovations in offer logic, document verification, and intelligent routing to optimize conversion and operational efficiency.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE :
Work Location and Arrangement : This role will be based out of the Richmond, VA CarMax Technology Innovation Center or the Dallas, TX Technology Hub and have a Hybrid work arrangement.
Work Authorization : Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Sponsorship will not be considered for this specific role.
