13. Attends and assists with campus wide events outside of normally scheduled work hours.
14. Attends conferences, trainings, printing press checks, and presentations that may involve travel.
15. Trains and provides design guidance and artistic feedback to student assistants.
16. Collaborates with staff and students to create branded, visually compelling graphic solutions inclusive of, but not limited to campus event design, social media content, printed marketing materials, etc.

Minimum Qualifications :
1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Fine Arts with specialization in graphic design or related field and 0 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for graphic arts and design, visual communications, and / or brand management; or any equivalent combination of education and / or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
2. Functional knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of design, including layout, typography, color, balance, composition, ink, paper quality, and current design trends and digital / social media demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply concepts, terminology.
3. Functional knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and systems associated with graphic design and other multimedia design and production.
4. Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the area of graphic design and digital communication arts field.
5. Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.
7. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
8. Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design, Bridge, XD), Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office within either MAC or Windows operating systems.
9. Demonstrated proficiency in online and social media platforms such as ASANA, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slide, Figma, Canva; Instagram; Facebook, etc.
10. Ability to work constructively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with excellent time and project management skills, attending to important details with accuracy.
11. Ability to travel on and off island for the purpose of printing and press checks.
12. Ability to work outside normally scheduled work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as directed.
Desirable Qualifications :
1. Working knowledge of the University of Hawaii at Manoa and Office of Enrollment Management Style Guide.
2. Knowledge of UH Manoa programs and organizations, their purposes and functions, in a large, public, research university as applied to recruitment and / or admissions of students.
3. Demonstrated ability to create visual solutions appropriate to prospective students and related audiences.
4. Experience in event brand design from logo, colors, typography, messaging, photography and aspects of both print and digital needs.
5. Basic or intermediate photography, photo-editing skills.
6. Basic or intermediate understanding of web design principles, user experience (UX), responsive design; designing websites, website identity systems, and website interactions.
7. Familiar with packaging design, mock-ups, and large format printing.
