Legal Secretary

Description We are looking for a skilled Legal Secretary to support a dynamic law firm in Troy, Michigan. In this role, you will provide essential assistance with legal documentation, administrative tasks, and trial preparation. This opportunity is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and extensive experience in litigation.

Responsibilities :

• Draft and prepare legal documents, including summons, complaints, and notices, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Manage and compose standard correspondence and other legal-related documents.
• File court documents with federal and state courts, adhering to established protocols and deadlines.
• Maintain detailed records and coordinate follow-ups with process servers to ensure smooth operations.
• Review and proofread legal documentation to guarantee consistency and precision.
• Perform administrative duties such as photocopying, organizing files, and managing outgoing mail.
• Apply knowledge of legal terminology to support tasks and communications effectively.
• Handle calendar management to schedule meetings, court dates, and other critical appointments.
• Safeguard sensitive information and uphold confidentiality in all interactions. Requirements - Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Legal Secretary, preferably in civil litigation.
• Proficiency in case management software and billing functions.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage calendars and schedules efficiently.
• Experience in client relations and handling sensitive communications.
• Knowledge of court proceedings and familiarity with filing protocols.
• Proven ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Comprehensive understanding of legal terminology and processes.
