Role Overview

The Capital Program Analyst is a pivotal role ensuring accuracy within a complex system used as the agency's primary informational source for over $2B+ in highway and bridge infrastructure for the State of Indiana. Position is responsible for running data analytics for Quality Control and Assurance ensuring resources are aligned with fiscal year estimated obligations for current and future years up to 7 years, a highly visible task seen throughout the agency in all districts. Position will assist with reporting requirements of contracts moving to letting, ensuring dates and funding are updated timely. Responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data on the performance of program activities required to maintain integrity inside systems.

Location : This position is located in INDOT's Central Office. Salary : This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $59,800.00. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience.

A Day in the Life

The essential functions of this role are as follows :

• Analyze business processes, business rules, methods of data acquisition and data application for advancement of business practices, operational performance enhancement and resource allocation.
• Conduct methodic, non-routine examinations of office specific data through advanced analysis routines, queries, scripts.
• Present findings / recommendations through the development of custom reports, charts and maps.
• Work directly with Information Technology to maintain specialty hardware including data loading / unloading, error message interpretation, SQL statement development, script updating, mass editing of datasets and software database performance analysis.
• Test and evaluate new / existing technologies and business practices for practical and feasible implementation.
