Job Overview
The Data Analytics and Insights team is seeking an experienced and talented Senior Data Engineer to join our growing team of analytics experts. As a key member of our team, you will play an essential role in the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines, data products, and analytic products in enterprise snowflake. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, with specific expertise in Informatica and Snowflake. This role will involve working closely with our business stakeholders, data analysts, and data scientists to ensure the efficient development and management of our data infrastructure.

Enterprise Data Platform running ongoing migrations from various databases to Snowflake throughout next year.
Source systems may include MySQL, Oracle, and others.
Hands-on data engineering role; not data science or analytics work.
Pipelines are primarily batch. No real-time streaming at this point; real-time experience is a plus but not required.
Required and preferred skills
Primary : Snowflake data engineering experience. Focus is Snowflake-first (past hires were often Informatica engineers; the emphasis is shifting).
SQL (Structured Query Language) proficiency is required.
ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools experience : Informatica preferred but not mandatory; experience with dbt, talent, or fight trend is acceptable.
CI (Continuous Integration) and CDE pipelines : knowledge of Jenkins and GitHub is expected.
Comfort with GCP (Google Cloud Platform) or Databricks is acceptable in addition to Snowflake.
Python expectations
Python familiarity is expected of a data engineer, but strong Python specialization is not required.
No interview focus on Python or data structures / algorithms.
If a candidate does not know Python, Suresh would doubt their data engineering skills.
First round withHM.

Additional data engineering round with TEAM engineer.
If the candidate is an Informatica engineer, an Informatica-focused round may be included.
Location and working hours
Preference for local to Bay Area or California / Pacific Time.
Out-of-state candidates are acceptable if they support Pacific working hours.
Experience level
Overall : more than 5 years; mid-level targeted.
Preferred range : between 5 and 15 years.
Avoid very senior architect profiles (10 20+ years) due to the hands-on nature.
Snowflake-specific experience of about 2 3 years is acceptable.
