Duties and Responsibilities :

Auburn University at Montgomery is accepting applications for an HVAC Technician. Under general supervision, this position performs technical HVAC work on a wide array of building HVAC systems and their associated components to perform maintenance, repair, replacement, and installation tasks.

The candidate selected for this position will be responsible for the following :

  • Performs routine repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems.
  • Replaces HVAC pumps, drives, and motors.
  • Performs HVAC repairs and installs HVAC components in campus buildings and will be required to serve on an on-call status for emergencies.
  • Assists HVAC Manager on complex HVAC projects, equipment replacement, and installation.
  • May be responsible for supervising and training employees performing HVAC duties.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Knowledge of facility operations related to HVAC, OSHA regulations, and state contract guidelines.
  • Knowledge of working with a work ticket system and Microsoft office software.
  • Knowledge of chillers, boilers, AHU’s, coils, motors, fans, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to install, maintain, and repair a wide array of common HVAC systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems.
  • Ability to wire circuits / components and to repair exhaust fans and ventilation equipment.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures while performing job duties.
