Assistant Vice President of Pharmacy Strategic Partnerships
A national healthcare organization headquartered in Nashville, TN is seeking an accomplished Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Pharmacy Strategic Partnerships to lead initiatives across specialty pharmacy, GPO relationships, and non-acute expansion. This senior leadership role is integral to optimizing partnerships, driving operational excellence, and developing growth strategies within one of the nation's most advanced pharmacy supply networks.
The AVP will provide executive-level leadership to specialty pharmacy programs, vendor collaborations, consulting engagements, and supplier relationsensuring alignment with enterprise goals and sustainable value creation.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic pharmacy partnerships, specialty GPO programs, and supplier engagements
- Collaborate with executives, sourcing teams, and external partners to optimize programs and outcomes
- Direct multiple large-scale initiatives, ensuring measurable results across pharmacy operations and financial performance
- Oversee financial analysis and interpret data to identify expense reduction and savings opportunities
- Drive non-acute and specialty pharmacy growth, developing frameworks for expansion and innovation
- Manage consulting engagements, present findings to senior executives, and implement actionable solutions
- Mentor and develop senior pharmacy leaders, including Directors and Sr. Directors
- Interface with internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve issues and maintain strategic alignment
- Maintain current knowledge of healthcare economics, managed care, and pharmacy trends
Qualifications
Required :
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (RPh)Active pharmacist license in good standingMinimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare or health system pharmacy operationsAt least 8 years of experience in pharmacy supply expense management, consulting, or GPO environmentsPreferred :
Residency, fellowship training, or board certificationExperience with non-acute or specialty pharmacy (e.g., physician clinics, managed care, or home infusion)Proven success managing strategic relationships and complex negotiationsCompensation & Benefits
