Role Summary
The Assistant Controller plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting across multiple subsidiaries. This position supports executive leadership with critical insights into financial performance and contributes directly to strategic decision-making.
You will lead key accounting functions including monthly close, audit preparation, and acquisition integration, while driving consistency and process improvements across entities. Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and support subsidiary accounting teams to ensure timely and accurate monthly close.Prepare and review consolidated financial reporting packages, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.Conduct variance analysis and provide insightful commentary comparing actual results to budget and forecast.Lead audit preparation efforts and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and standardize procedures across entities.Assist with purchase accounting for acquisitions, including fair value assessments and opening balance sheet entries.Support integration of newly acquired businesses, including ERP implementation and banking setup.Collaborate with corporate accounting on forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning initiatives.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial controls and reporting consistency.Key Requirements
5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle month-end close.CPA designation preferred.Experience in acquisition accounting and integration.Background in residential services (, HVAC, pest control, home maintenance) is highly desirable.Familiarity with ServiceTitan or Viewpoint software is a plus.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.Self-motivated, driven, and eager to take ownership of responsibilities.
