This Sr. Quality Engineer role is a unique opportunity to help lead the setup, launch, and support of our new fabrication area to support a new refrigeration assembly line. This position will act as the lead quality support for that department.
Start-Up Responsibilities & Ongoing Production Responsibilities
Reporting to the Site Quality Manager, the Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting and continually improving the Sub-Zero Group, Inc. Quality System and helping to establish it within the Fabrication Departments of the Cedar Rapids facility. The successful individual will also facilitate continuous product and process improvements so we can exceed the expectations of those we service by providing high quality, innovative, value added, luxury appliance products and services.

Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field.

Able to work collaboratively to resolve issues and continually improve results in the areas of safety, quality, delivery and cost. Experienced in Microsoft Office (including SharePoint) and Data Analytics tools (PowerBI, Tableau, SQL, etc.). Solid analytical problem-solver with knowledge of tools (5why, 8D, A3, etc.). Proficient in GD&T, measurement practices and APQP tools such as PPAP, dFMEA, pFMEA, MSA, SPC, capability studies and control plans. Strong understanding of and experience applying advanced statistical methodologies in a manufacturing environment – e.g. ANOVA, regression analysis, six sigma concepts, etc. Minimum of 8 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality engineering function.
Preferred
Proven track record of project management and effectively managing priorities. Understanding of ISO / IATF / AS QMS standards and experience internal auditing to the standards. Lean manufacturing experience. Knowledge of solidworks and gauge and fixture design. American Society for Quality (ASQ) – Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), ASQ– Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or other certification strongly desired.
