IT Pricing / Modeling Specialist

SUMMARY

Arcticom LLC a company within the BSNC family is currently seeking a qualified IT Pricing / Modeling Specialist to support the United States Department of Agriculture, Digital Infrastructure Services Center, USDA DISC in Kansas City, MO.

This position is 100% remote. The IT Budget Analyst contract for the USDA, DISC provides financial support for critical IT infrastructure, data center services, and cloud hosting for vital federal government functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Elicit customer business requirements and translate technical solution architecture designs into accurate customer pricing. Expertly identify necessary details including product / service descriptions, quantities, prices, and payment terms into a formal document including breakdowns of costs and fees.
• Gather customer information, including product specifications quantity, and any special requests. Complete information gathering by direct communication with the customer or reviewing previous orders. Work with cross-functional teams to prepare customer pricing documentation, reflecting unique cost center cost components accurately.
• Demonstrate expertise developing and leveraging IT estimating approaches such as analogous, parametric, three point and bottom-up techniques. They need to be able to develop and choose the correct approach for each effort.
• Demonstrate experience pricing complex IT solutions in an Agile work environment that may include Cloud hosting, software development, network implementations, hardware procurements, SaaS implementations, license procurements, security services, technology integration services, and AI development.
• Influence project cost management by optimizing team composition, understanding technical complexity and impacts on cost, and predicting hidden costs affected by training, onboarding, infrastructure, quality assurance and sustainment.
• Expertise to build risk management into pricing by adding appropriate contingency buffers, identifying potential roadblocks, considering market changes and monitoring scope creep.
• Track estimate / quote assignments and report on progress.
• Conduct modeling / trending among financial behavior and DISC services portfolios and customer portfolio solution design demand behavior to drive estimating efficiencies, incorporating quote “models” for automated estimating at various stages of customer opportunity engagement.
• Perform requested changes modifications to quotes / estimates to adjust pricing and details to financial models as necessary
• Provide reference to answer questions and clarify details to any pricing details regarding quotes.
• Provide documentation and records of quotes and modification for referent of changes and approvals for quotes / estimates prepared.
• Ability to effortlessly speak to customers with diverse levels of IT knowledge about complex IT solutions so that customers understand the cost of a solution.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This job is performed remotely. The location will be an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

No supervisory responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
