Fabrication Manager
We're seeking a Fabrication Manager to lead and oversee all fabrication operations — ensuring production goals are met safely, efficiently, and with the highest quality standards. This role plays a key part in optimizing manufacturing processes, mentoring team members, and driving continuous improvement across safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
As the Fabrication Manager, you'll serve as a vital link between Production, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance, ensuring seamless collaboration and execution on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee daily fabrication activities, including scheduling, resource planning, and workflow coordination.
- Lead, train, and develop team members to achieve performance, safety, and quality goals.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, quality standards, and all applicable regulations.
- Supervise fabrication of components in accordance with engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Monitor and improve key metrics — including efficiency, yield, scrap, and downtime.
- Partner with Engineering and Quality to resolve design and process challenges.
- Maintain equipment, tools, and work areas to meet 5S and readiness standards.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct root cause analyses and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance throughput and reduce costs.
- Manage departmental budgets, labor costs, and material usage.
- Support new product introductions through process development and manufacturability assessments.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Set and track departmental goals aligned with company objectives.
- Identify cost reduction and efficiency improvement opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA safety standards, PPE requirements, and ISO regulations.
- Approve and manage employee timekeeping and attendance records.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering (preferred).5+ years of experience in fabrication or manufacturing operations, including 3+ years in a leadership role.Strong background in metal or plastic fabrication, welding, machining, bonding, or assembly.Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and resolve conflicts effectively.Deep understanding of fabrication processes such as cutting, forming, welding, and assembly.Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Excellent planning, organizational, and communication abilities.Experience with ERP / MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methods.Skilled in data analysis and data-driven decision-making.
