Job Overview :
As an Accounting Clerk, you’ll be responsible for supporting accounting operations and administrative functions within the Association.
This is an on-site opportunity at a property in the Lakeview East neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois.
Your Responsibilities :
- Responds to unit owner billing inquiries and provides supporting documentation as needed.
- Initiates unit transfers by submitting closing documents to the Ownership Change department.
- Welcomes new owners and assists with setting up ClickPay, eStatements, and Resident Connect access.
- Processes work-order income and ensures proper general ledger income coding.
- Prepares the monthly delinquency report based on association receivables.
- Issues late fees and delinquency letters with property manager approval.
- Works with the property manager and collections attorney on severely delinquent accounts.
- Supports the annual audit by providing requested Jenark reports to the auditor.
- Reviews and processes invoices in AvidXChange, ensuring accuracy and correct expense coding.
- Coordinates with Vendor Management to verify and set up new vendors.
- Processes bi-weekly payroll in ADP and confirms accuracy before final approval.
- Assists with budget preparation by providing Jenark reports to the property manager and updating payroll forecasts.
- Monitors cash flow by reviewing general ledger reports and identifying discrepancies.
- Prepares the monthly Capital Expense report for the Board Treasurer to reimburse the operating account.
- Assembles board packets for 3550 Condominium Association board meetings.
- Maintains unit owner insurance records and updates insurance information on IL Connect accordingly.
- Files completed work orders and insurance documents in their designated locations.
- Monitors and replenishes essential office supplies proactively.
- Coordinates building events with the assistant manager, including the Marathon, Air Show, Annual Meeting, and Staff Holiday Party.
Skills & Qualifications :
Two years’ experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or equivalent experience in a related field.Works effectively with coworkers, clients, customers, and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; addresses problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions.Experience working with MS Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel.Must possess a growth mindset and an ability to multi-task / prioritize different projects at any given time.Superior oral and written communication skills.Compensation :
$ 18.75 - $ 19.23 / hour
