Plumbing Journeyman Opportunity
MSD is looking for a Plumbing Journeyman to join our team! The Plumbing Journeyman completes installations and removal of plumbing and associated fixtures for new construction and renovation projects. The Plumbing Journeyman interprets blueprints and schematics, conducting necessary activities, including but not limited to : drilling, measuring, cutting, and welding, following the approved plans. The Plumbing Journeyman trains and evaluates Apprentice Plumbers in accordance with established procedures. The Plumbing Journeyman supports the total quality effort by identifying and responding to the needs of internal and external customers 100% of the time.
Key Job Duties :
- Plans pipe systems layout, installation, or repair
- Attaches plumbing, piping and associated fixtures to walls, structures, etc., according to plans and specifications
- Provides guidance and instruction to designated team members
- Communicates with key organizational personnel to establish requirements and priorities
- Directs activities of field crew members in accordance with job schedules and established priorities
- Trains assigned personnel on proper techniques and regulations
- Installs piping and accessory fixtures following established guidelines and procedures
- Reports labor hours, materials usage and other data as required
- Operates required machinery and tools in a safe, efficient manner
- Ensures compliance with all local / state / federal regulations
- Conducts quality control inspections to ensure appropriate materials and procedures are used
- Maintains proficiency in all skills related to plumbing installation / removal
- Obtains any licensures / certifications as required by organization
- Makes every reasonable effort to ensure safe practices and get every employee home safely
Candidate Requirements :
5+ years' recent experience in plumbing fieldPossess (or be able to pass) city / county / state Journeyman certification testCompletion of a state-sponsored Apprenticeship program preferredAbility to comprehend complex instructions, mechanical drawings, and documentsAbility to clearly communicate in written and verbal EnglishAble to effectively operate the basic tools required for the tradeAdvanced knowledge of Plumbing practices and proceduresUS Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status requiredBenefits :
