\n\nX-Ray Technologist Position\n\nSchedule Details\n\n \n\t
5x8.0 shift schedule\n\tDays / Evenings with weekends, on call, callbacks, and holidays per unit needs\n\t36 or 40 hours per week\n\tMust be able to report within 30 minutes to on call shifts\n\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n \n\t
Verifying patients' identity and reviewing physicians' orders before beginning x-ray procedures\n\tUsing x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs as per physicians' written orders\n\tExplaining x-ray procedures to patients and answering their questions\n\tPositioning patients accordingly, which may include lifting and moving patients with limited mobility\n\tHandles all radiologic equipment safely and properly keeping dose to patient as low as possible\n\tObserve each patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to meet his or her age-specific needs\n\tProduces a diagnostic, high quality image for interpretation by the Radiologist\n\tPromptly notifying management of damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment\n\tUtilizes electronic patient information systems to verify patient name, date, appropriate exam, and any special exam specific comments from the provider. Understands and practices the Dual patient identifier procedure\n\tMaintains accurate patient record keeping by properly identifying images and assuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly\n\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\n \n\t
Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology and maintains Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)\n\tNYS license (or able to obtain license prior to starting)\n\t2 years of X-ray Technologist experience\n\tLevel 1 trauma center experience\n\tAbility to move or lift patients\n\tAbility to stand for extended periods\n\tExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills\n\tEffective written and verbal communication skills\n\tA patient and compassionate disposition\n\tTeam player who can maintain a cohesive working environment\n\tAbility to report within 30 minutes to on call shift\n\tBLS (American Heart Association ONLY)\n\tExperience using c-arm / o-arm in the past 8 months\n\n\nAdditional Requirements\n\n \n\t
Technician License (currently ANY Tech License is accepted in the state of NY)\n\tTwo (2) years experience\n\n
