We are seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Statistical Engineer to design, implement, and optimize statistical models and data-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong mathematical skills, programming expertise, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for business decision-making.

Minimum Candidate Qualifications : Candidates must meet all of the following minimum requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 24 semester credit hours in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science
- Eligibility to work in New York State
- One of the following experience profiles :
At least three (3) years of experience conducting rate studies in the Property and Casualty Insurance industry and status as a Fellow or Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS)
Passed at least four (4) CAS exams with seven (7) or more years of experience in Property and Casualty actuarial ratemakingJob Responsibilities :
Analyze and provide recommendations for the disposition of assigned rate filingsParticipate in meetings with DFS to discuss all aspects of rate filingsComplete and submit required deliverables, including :Client indication spreadsheet
Presentation spreadsheetPrepare an Internal Actuarial Memo that includes :Actuarial rate recommendations
Description of evaluation processRecommendations to the rate filing preparerAssumptions and methodologies usedEvaluation of data reliabilityApplicable caveatsSupporting written and electronic documentationReview insurance company rate filings for accuracy and regulatory complianceCheck mathematical accuracy of actuarial calculationsMaintain in-house databases and systemsAssist with research, special projects, and perform other duties as assignedRequired Skills and Abilities :
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a teamStrong project management and multitasking skills; capable of managing multiple time-sensitive projectsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDetail-oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Teams, WebEx, Zoom)Self-starter with initiative and the ability to handle varied tasks without daily oversight
