Responsibilities
- Serve as hands-on Manufacturing Engineer on project team dedicated to assembly of lithium ion and lithium metal batteries
- Design and implement tools and processes to manufacture new products
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead changes to improve product quality
- Identify and implement new equipment and processes
- Develop process parameters for a variety of manufacturing assembly operations including heat sealing laser welding laser cutting ultrasonic welding resistance welding and battery winding
- Train technicians with assembly techniques; some hands-on assembly work may be required
- Perform equipment setup and minor equipment repairs
- Troubleshoot assembly issues and implement corrective actions to minimize recurrence
- Assist with product design decisions and changes
- Develop comprehensive work instructions and process controls
- Generate and implement work area layouts / participate in 6S initiatives
- Prepare and present technical presentations to customers as it relates to product line issues
Requirements
B.S. in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology required.2 years minimum experience working in a manufacturing environment.Experience with tool design (SolidWorks preferred) process parameter development machining equipment operation and laser welding highly desiredAbility to interact with various departments and good verbal and written communication skills.Creative thinking self-motivating problem solving skills and a desire to remain current with emerging technologies.Solid mechanical aptitude andproficiency in the use of hand tools.85000 - $120000 a year
