Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

Location : Manchester, CT 06040 (Connecticut nursing jobs)

Healthcare Setting : Family Birthing Center

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse Contract

Start Date : November 24, 2025

End Date : February 23, 2026

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 3x12-hour night shifts (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM), block scheduling

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1860-$2000

Patient Population : Neonates and Adults

Scrubs : Provided

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Connecticut RN license preferred)

Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience

Required Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NRP, EFM-C

Experience with Meditech charting preferred

COVID-19 vaccination required (medical / religious exemptions considered)

Ability to provide clinical support for neonates and adults

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care for laboring mothers and newborns in a Family Birthing Center

Perform antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum assessments and interventions

Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and emergency obstetric procedures

Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns using EFM and IUPC

Administer medications including antihypertensives, magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, prostaglandins, and more

Initiate and maintain IVs, central lines, and infusion pumps

Conduct newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, and neonatal resuscitation as needed

Educate and support parents on newborn care, car seat safety, and discharge planning

Document patient care using Omnicell, MediTech, and GE Centricity systems

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and more
