Accountant - Entry Level

Description

We are looking for a motivated Entry-Level Accountant to join our team in Teaneck, New Jersey. This is a long-term contract position offering a valuable opportunity to gain experience in accounting. The role is designed for individuals with a background in accounting or finance who are eager to develop their skills and contribute to a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Perform accurate data entry and maintain financial records related to accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Reconcile bank statements and ensure discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.

Assist in preparing accounting entries and maintaining general ledger accounts.

Support cost accounting activities to track and analyze project expenses.

Utilize pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions to manage and analyze financial data.

Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes.

Provide insights and reports to assist management in decision-making.

Maintain organized and up-to-date documentation of financial transactions.

Assist in auditing processes as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Familiarity with accounting principles is a plus.

Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
