Graduate Assistant

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking candidates to fill its available graduate assistant positions. The primary responsibility of the Graduate Research Assistant (GA) is to provide professional research support under the supervision of a member of the Graduate Faculty. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency / institution policy.

Salary Information : $5,625 - $13,500 (9mth Salary Range)

Additional Information : Very good oral and written communication skills; Ability to work solo and in a team environment; Ability to understand business processes and workflow; Ability to answer computer questions in person, through email, and over the phone; Undergraduate knowledge of the courses in which they serve as a Teaching Assistant.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Attending class sessions; Teaching and assessment of courses and labs for the UA Little Rock Computer Science Department; Leading a class activity such as a discussion group or demonstration; Tutoring students; Working with diverse populations; Organizing different projects; Being accessible to students or colleagues through email and scheduled appointments; Preparing materials as needed as determined by the chair, graduate coordinator, and / or supervisor; Maintaining records and meet deadlines as required by administration; Respecting confidentiality of all individuals; comply with FERPA requirements; Assisting with other duties as assigned.
