CNC Operator

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator with experience in water jet or laser systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing machine operations, managing materials, and ensuring precision in production.

Responsibilities :

  • Monitor machine operation and manage loading and unloading of raw materials and fixturing.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct secondary operations such as hole resizing, part deburring, and inventory management during machine operation.
  • Understand and efficiently apply relevant process specifications, design information, and planning documents.

Essential Skills :

  • Proficient in CNC water jet and CNC laser operations.
  • Basic programming skills within manufacturing or job shop environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications :

  • Knowledge of CNC setup and operation best practices.
  • Experience in change management and willingness to embrace new skills and optimize workflow.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that require climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting over 55 lbs.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the use of hand tools, fixtures, rigging, and inspection tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Work Environment :

    This role operates on the 1st shift from 6 : 30 AM to 3 : 00 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential for overtime as needed for production demands. The work takes place in a non-climate-controlled warehouse / production floor in a bench-style work area.

    Job Type & Location :

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norfolk, Virginia.

    Pay and Benefits :

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
