The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the welcoming face of the organization, providing high-quality phlebotomy and specimen processing services. This role requires exceptional technical skills, customer service, and professionalism to ensure a positive patient experience. The PSR II upholds confidentiality, accuracy, and process excellence while performing specimen collection duties in compliance with established procedures.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform blood draws and specimen preparation according to established standards for forensic and clinical collections.Verify patient information and ensure samples are accurately labeled in the patient's presence.Maintain records, documentation, and safe laboratory practices.Promote a professional, patient-centered environment while adhering to safety and compliance protocols .Provide coverage for multiple Patient Service Centers (PSCs) or In-Office Phlebotomy sites with minimal notice.Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and patients to maintain operational excellence.Exhibit leadership behaviors , process discipline, and confidentiality in handling patient information.Demonstrate flexibility to support business needs, including weekends, holidays, and overtime shifts.Required Experience :
Three (3) years of phlebotomy experience , including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.High school diploma or equivalent required.Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, and WA).Nice-to-Have Experience :
Two years working in a Patient Service Center environment.Customer service experience in retail or service settings.Keyboard / data entry proficiency.Required Skills :
Proficient phlebotomy and specimen handling skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Preferred Skills :
Excellent customer service and communication skills.Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.Leadership and mentoring capabilities.Strong judgment and problem-solving skills.Additional Skills from Original Description :
