Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Tactical Space Systems Division, is adding a new Technical Writer to support the development and CM release of documentation across a broad variety of space system programs. This is an on-site position supporting multiple programs, and some travel is likely required in support of specific program events.

• Supports the preparation of technical documentation for one or more space programs. Writes, rewrites and / or edits technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences.
• Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals. Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts. Conducts quality review of materials.
• Edits engineering inputs to documentation to ensure proper formatting, grammar, and ensure compliance to document templates.
• Works within the existing Configuration Management system to ensure documents are submitted for peer review and release.
• Supports the development of waivers / deviations that ensure program remain in compliance with NG processes.
• Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals.
• Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts.
• Conducts quality review of materials.

This position can be filled as a level 2 or level 3 depending on years of experience and qualifications.

AZ- Level 2 $58,000-$77,000, Level 3 $67,000-$91,000

VA- Level 2 $71,000-$97,000, Level 3 $82,000-$114,000

Salary Range : $58,000.00 - $91,000.00Salary Range 2 : $71,000.00 - $114,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
