Reporting directly to (Director of credit & Collections) within the Credit &Collection department, the Credit specialist provides a vital role in validating and processing credit requests received by Sales, Credit & Collections, Customer Service, and the Returned Merchandise (RMA) team. This person provides the necessary research and communication regarding the final credit posted to a customer's account.

Responsibilities :

  • Assist in completing the Returned Merchandise (RMA) process by issuing credit memos in a timely manner.
  • Support Customer Service and Credit & Collections with Credits related to Customer discrepancies.
  • Perform reconciliation of Credit Card accounts to assist collections.
  • Support the onboarding team by setting up new account profiles.
  • Meet established processing requirements for the month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting close schedules.
  • Work effectively with others in a team environment to accomplish goals and to identify and resolve problems.
  • Exhibit and adhere to the established Visual Comfort Company Values.
  • Must demonstrate commitment, dependability, punctuality, and adherence to agreed-upon work schedule. Fully present in the workplace to effectively collaborate and communicate amongst co-workers and teams.

Requirements :

  • High School diploma or GED is required. Associates degree or higher is preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Accounting, Credit & Collections.
  • Demonstrated analytical and reasoning skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work well under stress.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is highly desirable.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Experience in distribution or manufacturing is preferred.
  • Experience working in a team environment is required.
