Compensation for roles at Glanbia varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. Glanbia provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Illinois. This range may not be applicable to other locations. The hourly rate for Illinois based employees for this role is $28.00 / hour ($25 / hour + $3.00 shift differential)

What you’ll do :
As a Lead, you will be responsible for leading, training, and organizing work activities for a team to be successful in their job duties.
Every day, you can expect to :
Ensure employee of the team practice safe work habits and follow safety rulesEnsure that policies and procedures of that department are being followed in a consistent mannerReport Safety, Quality, or Maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel in a timely mannerLead the department when the supervisor is absent and able to make decisions for that dayEffectively communicate with other departmentsKnow, Understand, Perform all job functions within the departmentResponsible for the completion of daily / monthly production / shipping / receiving reports.Perform daily audits in the assigned department covering Safety, Quality, and Department Specific DutiesPromote team building (from shift to shift and cross –functional teams across departments)TrainingTrain all employees on their specific job duties (proper documentation recorded)Organize and complete the required monthly training using the EHS Training System (Alchemy)Update procedures and SOP’s (new and existing documents)Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) : lab coat, safety shoes, safety glasses, bump cap, hearing protection, hair net, beard net, and nitrile glovesPerform other duties as assignedTo thrive in this role, you must :
Communicate effectively and lead a team of operations employeesTrouble-shoot issues before making adjustments on the machines after training is completedUse Continuous Improvement methods to help solve issues (Why-Why, SMED)Organize break times, changeovers, call-offs, etc.Education :
Minimum High School or GEDOther Experience :
Required 1 year of food environment or consumer product experienceRequired 2 years of manufacturing / distribution experiencePreferred 6 months of previous lead experienceDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot processes preferredExperience using WMS or ERP system with RF scanning a plusAbility to read, write, and communicate in English fluentlyAbility to communicate effectively with all employees inclusive managementKnowledge of or familiar with GMP’s / HACCPAbility to follow written and oral instructionsComputer ExperienceKnowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Able to coordinate and schedule shift meetings (department and cross-functional)Able to document detailed reports about the departmentAble to communicate details through email including picturesAble to navigate through the EHS Training System (Alchemy), EHS Incident Reporting System, and SAP System when requiredKnowledge of batch recording and material handling proceduresAbility to recommend corrective actionsBasic math skillsDemonstrate the ability to begin the Root Cause Analysis processPhysical Demands :
