Essential Functions

  • Monitor and organize Chef’s schedule for sous chef and executive chef Creating weekly menu cards with allergens and proper ingredients used for breakfast, lunch and dinner
  • VERY IMPORTANT -Meticulous with editing, proof reading and correcting weekly menus to ensure correct spelling, punctuation to distribute to kitchen team
  • Correspond with HR department about employees including vacation requests and sick leave
  • Request office inventory and supplies from purchasers and alerting maintenance team to repair kitchen equipment to ensure safety
  • Input data for prep list, recap data entry of daily meal consumptions by employees and guests

  • Knowledge and Skills

    Excel, Word Document, Publisher and Outlook Ability to work under pressure and adjust to diverse working environment Prioritizing multi assignments with time sensitivity. Food knowledge / understanding of industry terms and products

    Education and Work Experience

  • High School Diploma 2+ years of industry related experience
  • Work Environment

    The work environment for Café Admin includes the following large kitchen environment elements and exposures

    Fast paced office environment

    Long periods of sitting

    Requirements

    Must have and maintain an active Food Handlers Card, as required by the California Health Department. Must possess a strong understanding and knowledge of food

    Physical Demands

    Some heavy lifting 10-20 lbs Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision for safe navigation of work area and use of equipment Standing, walking, bending / twisting, and balance are all required to perform job task Possible sitting to perform desk work such as typing; up to 7 hours a day
